In this section are pictures of two related families: Fusselman and Stroup

The Stroup and Fusselman are related families of the Corlls. They originated in the Germanic parts of what is today France , Germany and Switzerland.  They came to America in the 1700s and settled in Northampton County in Lynn Twp. (now is Lehigh CO, ) Some of the offspring migrated to Trumbull CO.,Ohio while others remained in eastern PA. The Fusselmans settled in Warren, Southington,Champion Twps. and other parts of Trumbull County.  The Stroups settled in the Jackson and Ellswoth Twp.s of Trumbull Co. (This section now called Mahoning Co.)

Annabelle (Bortmas) and Kenneth Fusselman

Annabelle Ruth (Bortmas) and Kenneth C.Fusselman.  This picture was taken around the time of their marriage ,,June 2,1940. Kenneth was born 1915 and died Feb.24,2003. He was the son of Harley Smith Fusselman and Susannah Burturff Fusselman of Warren,Ohio. Annabelle was the daughter of Ben Franklin Bortmas and Grace Lawrence Bortmas. Annabelle's siblings were Mildred, Olive,Clarice,June, Alton,Emory and Lester.Kenneth's siblings were Idelle, Elwin and Gertrude. Their children are K.C.Fusselman, Rand D.Fusselman and Rick E. Fusselman.

Annabelle Bortmas Fusselman

Annabell Bortmas was born )ct.22,1918. She died on Nov.5,2009. She lived in Southington,Ohio dying at the age of 91. She was born in Canfield,Ohio, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Bortmas and Grace Alice (Lawrence) Bortmas.  She was a housewifewho loved to do cooking, baking and sewing.  During WWII she worked for the Republic Steel. She was a member of the Southington Garden Club and she enjoyed studying genealogy and collecting antiques. She leaves hree children: Kenneth C., Rand D. and Rick E. Fusselman of Trumbull County,Ohio and grandchildren.

Daniel Stroup:son of Andrew,sr. and Susannah Corll Stroup

Daniel Stroup is another child of Andrew Sr. and Susannah Corll Stroup. Daniel was born Oct.7,1818, in Lynn Twp., Lehigh CO., PA and died Dec.24, 1894 in Windham, Portage CO., OH. He was married to  Mary Polly Leichleitner b. Oct.20,1827 and d.Dec.31,1905. They were married on Nov.20,1845 in N.Jackson,OH. Their children were Wallace, Eliza, Edmond, Albert, Elmer, Emma and Daniel  Daniel's siblings were Nathan, Samuel, Catherine, Moses,Mary Ann, Lydia, Andrew Jackson, Emanuel,and Angeline.

Daniel Stroup Tombstone:Windham,Ohio

This is the tombstone for Daniel and Mary Stroup in Windham ,Portrage CO.,Ohio. The Stroups came from Lynn Twp., Lehigh CO.,PA and around 1830 they migrsated to Jackson Twp. of Mahoning CO.,Ohio.  Daniel is said to have walked the entire distance behind the ox cart of his family at the age of twelve (ref.Old Stroup Reunion Book). His parents were Andrew and Susannah Carl Stroup. His siblings were Nathan,Samuel,Catherine,Moses,Mary Ann, Lydia and Andrew.

Andrew Jackson Stroup,jr. b.,1828 d, 190(pictured below)

Andrew Jackson Stroup,jr b.1828. d. 1900 in Kansas at the age of 72. On June 21,1849 in Jackson Twp.,Mahoning CO., Ohio he married Elizabeth Angeline Eckenrode b. Jan. 4, 1832 in N.Jackson,OH and d. June 10,1915 in Nickerson,Kansas. They had four children:Deborah, Francis, Madison and Ensign.

Andrew Jackson Stroup,Jr. 1828-1900  Pictured below:

Andrew Stroup,jr. has a wad of 100 dollar bills stashed in his pocket as he is about to leave Ohio for settlement in Kansas. This was  in Oct.  31,1874. A short time before this date his mother and father filed separation papers to become legally separated living conditions but not divorced. Andrew jr's spouse, mother-in-law and father Andrew sr. went with him.  They never returned to Ohio.  His father died in a prarie fire in Kansas and was buried there. Andrew jr. died in Kansas in 1900 at age 72.

Eliza Angeline Eckenrode  born Y 4, 1832 in N.Jackson,Ohio; Married A.J.Stroup June 21,1849; died June 10,1915 in Nickerson, Kansas

Moses Stroup b.Sept.16, 1820 in Lynn Twp., Lehigh CO.,PA; d.April 28,1908 in Loda,Illinois. He was married on Feb. 5, 1841 in Trumbull CO.,Ohio to Phoebe Jane Bunts b. Nov.30,1822 in Ohio and d. Feb.4, 1841 in Loda,Illinois.  They had five children: Susan, Amanda, Dudley, Ann and Mary   (Moses pictured below)

Daniel Stroup b.Oct.17,1818 in Lynn Twp.,PA and died on Dec.24,1894 in Windham ,Portage CO.,Ohio. (see previous picture).Lynn Twp. is located in the very eastern part of PA and north of Philadelphia.  Many of the settlers in N.Jackson,OH came from this the early 1800s.  Most were farmers and of the Lutheran Ref. religion.
